Shangliu Tatler Launches 2017 Gen.T List
[SHANGHAI – 4 September 2017] – Shangliu Tatler unveiled its inaugural Gen.T list at exclusive launch ceremonies in Shanghai and Beijing. Gen.T is Tatler’s platform to shape and empower Asia’s future leaders. It’s annual Gen.T list recognises the brightest connectors, influencers and innovators across the region.
Following the inaugural Gen.T list in 2016, this year Shangliu Tatler chose 50 game-changing talents from Shanghai and 50 from Beijing.
“Gen.T is a platform that celebrates upcoming entrepreneurs and business leaders in Shanghai and Beijing,” explains Tamara Lamunière, Head of Gen.T Asia. “With Gen.T, we honour and recognise individuals who could one day be leaders in their field.”
On August 25, the Gen.T listers were honoured at a private dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Shanghai, followed by an exclusive afterparty at Lujiazui Harbour City Gala Hall, overlooking the Huangpu River.
A tailor-made countdown video from luxury watchmaker Hublot built the anticipation in the room, before the list exhibition was unveiled inside a special ‘magic box’, created by fashion brand Paul & Shark, which allowed guests to explore the profiles of the 2017 Gen.T listers.
The invitation-only event welcomed more than 300 VIP guests, including 2017 Gen.T listers Mario Ho, David Zhou, and Wendy Yu.
Shangliu Tatler partnered with Serve for China, a non-profit organisation dedicated to poverty alleviation throughout China, to create special Gen.T-themed Miao-style embroideries—handmade by Hunan artisans—for the listers.
On August 30 in Beijing, the 2017 Gen.T list was launched at a dinner in the city’s Chao Hotel.
Guests included 2017 Gen.T listers David Huang, Dai Kebin, Huang Sichen, Sara Jane Ho, Chictopia Liu, Lv Cheng, Liu Yulin, and Frank Chou.
Michel Lamunière, chairman and CEO of Edipresse Media Asia, congratulated the listers during his speech, saying: “We are celebrating 100 of the brightest and top performing talents in China tonight. We are proud to recognise their remarkable accomplishments and look forward to what they can achieve in coming years.”
As an Asia-wide initiative, all regional Tatler editions, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia, have launched Gen.T lists in 2017, creating a pan-Asian catalogue of close to 500 disruptive talents.
