Tatler Asia seeks an Executive Editor to oversee a centralized print editorial team based in Hong Kong producing regional content that will be distributed throughout the brand’s eight local markets—Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. This is a hands-on editorial leadership role that will include assigning, commissioning, and editing duties as well as management of editorial packaging, collaborating with sales, and developing and adhering to the content calendar.

We are looking for a motivated, energetic self-starter who has an encyclopedic knowledge of society, business leaders, influencers, and tastemakers—as well as strong editorial acumen and decision-making skills. Tatler Asia should present an authoritative, fascinating lens through which readers engage with the Tatler brand—as well as serving a larger global audience with compelling and impactful coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a Hong Kong-based team of writers, reporters, and editors, as well as collaborate closely overseeing editors and writers in Tatler’s local markets
  • Ensure adherence to the editorial calendar and robust coverage of Tatler Asia’s core subject categories
  • Cultivate a collaborative and motivational team culture wherein every staffer is working towards a mutually-understood set of brand goals
  • Develop and execute an editorial strategy, and make editorial decisions, with a thorough understanding of our core audience, corporate values, and business goals
  • Collaborate closely with sales and other brand divisions to develop sponsorship opportunities in editorial content, packages, and franchises
  • Ensure the reinforcement of journalistic standards and editorial best practices

Requirements

  • 10+ years of print editorial experience, preferably in features editing, luxury lifestyle, luxury fashion
  • Evidence of a prolific writing and editing career; ability to turn out pristine copy
  • Strong working knowledge of best editorial and journalistic practices
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, strong planning skills, ability to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Achievement-driven, ideas-driven, solutions-oriented, goal-oriented, can-do, positive attitude; demonstrated grace under pressure
  • Strong interest in luxury lifestyle, society, events, fashion, beauty, art, culture, and philanthropy
